Roof to foundation, one contractor

The categories are how the work is described, not how it is divided up. Most jobs cross them. A roof replacement turns up rotted decking; a build-out needs framing and drywall before a single finish goes on; an addition is foundation, framing, roofing, siding and finish carpentry under one permit. Taking the whole thing means there is no gap between trades for a problem to sit in.

That applies to commercial buildings and to houses. The most recent commercial job is a full interior build-out for a cafe on the ground floor of The Cooper in Printers Row. It is on the projects page alongside an infrared fitness studio in Park Ridge, kitchens, bathrooms, a garage and a shingle roof.
